Trump Criticizes Gun Owners for Not Voting; Says He’ll Roll Back Biden Gun Control

Former President Donald Trump has vowed to roll back any gun control measures passed during President Joe Biden’s administration and called out gun owners for not voting.

Trump was speaking to a crowd of approximately 6,000 at the National Rifle Association convention in Dallas when he gave the remarks. Trump has also received the NRA endorsement for the 2024 election.

During his speech, Trump said there were a lot of attacks on the 2nd Amendment, saying in part,

“In my second term, we will roll back every Biden attack on the Second Amendment. The attacks are coming fast and furious.”

Trump also said gun owners have to get out and vote this November. He said if gun owners did turn out, he would win in a landslide.

But Trump was critical of gun owners, saying they had not been turning out to vote and said now is the time to support him saying,

“I think you’re a rebellious bunch. But let’s be rebellious and vote this time.”

While Trump was giving his speech, a mobile billboard circled the convention center, criticizing the former president for his gun stances. The billboard said that Trump cared more about guns than he did people’s lives.

The billboard, which had scrolling images, had a partial quote from Trump saying guns were not the problem, as you can see in the image below:

That wasn’t the only mobile billboard circling the convention. Another billboard criticized the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Administration for being “gay.”

Below is an image of that billboard, which says it is sponsored by drtykid.com, a website that sells anti-ATF merchandise such as hoodies and decals.

Trump said during the speech that he would fire the ATF director on his first day in office and said the agency has been targeting the 2nd Amendment.

However, Biden spokesman Ammar Mousa said another Trump administration will bring more deaths:

“Tonight, Donald Trump confirmed that he will do exactly what the NRA tells him to do – even if it means more death, more shootings, and more suffering.”

Gabby Giffords gun control group “Giffords” also criticized Trump’s plan. The organization said Trump must be stopped from re-election.

“Trump is speaking at the NRA’s annual convention and has made it clear that he wants to undo the progress we’ve made under

@JoeBiden. If elected in November, Trump will put the agenda of the NRA & the profits of the gun industry ahead of American lives. We can’t let that happen.”

Trump has faced criticism from some gun owners in the past during his own administration for pushing the bump stock ban, which is before the U.S. Supreme Court, and an opinion on the issue is expected sometime next month. Some of that criticism resurfaced in online comments on X (formerly Twitter) during the NRA convention.

Gun owners also went after Trump for supporting Extreme Risk Protection Orders, commonly called “Red Flag” laws, while he was President. The comment came shortly after the Parkland, Florida shooting.

Trump said during a meeting in 2018,

“Take the guns first, go through due process second.”

In addition to going after Biden in his NRA speech, Trump went after another 2024 opponent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who Trump called out for past comments he had made about the NRA.

The comment by RFK Jr. was made after the Parkland shooting as well in 2018.

RFK Jr. told Fox News host Sean Hannity he didn’t remember making the comment about the NRA, but said he doesn’t believe they are a terrorist group and that he isn’t going to take anyone’s guns away.

Do you support more or less gun control during the next presidential election, or do you believe the current laws are fine the way they are?

Gun control is coming for us all from new ATF guidelines concerning private sales, to the invasion of our privacy with mandatory gun registries, to the onerous Missouri decision by the supreme court that state laws are subservient to federal ones.
The republic is dying at the hands of the imperial democrats. Our federacy of states is being dissolved by globalists who glory in centralized power.
Article II: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
If they are, in fact, going to infringe on the rights of individuals to keep and bear Arms with controls, regulations, and registries, we may all have to organize into Militias!!
