Biden Campaign Says it Raised $25 Million in One Night

President Joe Biden held a fundraiser with former Presidents of the United States, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

The campaign said the evening helped bring in $25 million at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, a new record. The event packages, including seating, VIP access, and more, ranged from $50,000 to $500,000.

The event was hosted by Stephen Colbert and included other celebrities such as Lizzo, Queen Latifah, Ben Platt, Lea Michele, and Cynthia Erivo.

Biden posted the following on X after his fundraiser with the former presidents:

“Caught up with @BarackObama, @BillClinton, and @StephenAtHome last night. I’ve gotta say: I like their style.”

As the first quarter of fundraising closes in, Biden is expected to outraise Republican challenger and former president Donald Trump. The Trump campaign is planning a fundraising event in Florida next month, and they hope to raise $33 million.

Biden’s event faced criticism, some who were protesting the Israel/Hamas war.

Other criticism came from Trump supporters who said Biden was focused on fundraising while Trump was attending the wake of a recently fallen New York City police officer, Jonathan Diller.

Diller was killed in the line of duty when he was shot beneath his bulletproof vest while approaching an illegally parked vehicle.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung posted the following criticism of Biden on X:

“President Trump will be honoring the legacy of Officer Diller and paying respects to his family, friends, and the NYPD.

Meanwhile, the Three Stooges—Biden, Obama, and Clinton—will be at a glitzy fundraiser in the city with their elitist, out-of-touch celebrity benefactors.”

Biden and Trump have both become the presumptive nominees for their respective parties.
