Trump Posts $175 Million Bond Before Deadline

Former President Donald Trump posted a $175 million bond in his New York civil fraud case.

The $175 million is down from the original $464 million bond that was initially issued. An appeals court ultimately lowered the bond by nearly $300 million.

By posting the bond, Trump prevented a New York judge from seizing his property to cover the amount owed.

Trump is currently in the process of appealing the fraud penalty.

If Trump is successful in his appeal, he won’t have to pay the state anything. He’ll have to pay the full amount plus interest if he loses the appeal.
