The D.C. Beat aims to provide Americans with a news site that covers Congress, the White House, and the U.S. Supreme Court by posting only the facts of a story.
According to a 2022 Pew Research poll, 76% of Americans believe journalists should include all sides of a story. However, over half of journalists don’t think it’s necessary.
Americans hunger for facts from their news without their news trying to push an agenda.
We do everything we can to remove personal bias from our stories and ensure that each side of a story is heard. Rather than labeling groups or politicians as “far right,” “far left,” “extremist,” or other labels, we report the facts and let citizens decide for themselves what they want to label the person or organization, if anything.
While news outlets across the country continue to promote their own narratives, whether for the left or the right, we want to bring news back to what it used to be: just the facts.
The D.C. Beat was launched on January 4th, 2024, to give Americans the news they desire.

Greg Pruett has a master’s degree in safety and occupational health from Columbia Southern University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Boise State University.
While Greg is not a “trained journalist,” he believes that real journalism has all but died and that citizen journalism will replace the legacy media.
In 2020, Greg started the Idaho Dispatch to bring Idahoans an unbiased news source. While Greg owned the Idaho Dispatch, the site was enjoyed by conservatives, liberals, and those who didn’t identify as either.
Many commended Greg for giving them news they didn’t feel was pushing an agenda.
Greg believes citizens are smart enough to make up their own minds about what they want to believe based on the facts presented in news articles. He believes it isn’t necessary to add to or subtract from the facts.
